Singapore shipbuilder Dundee Marine & Industrial Services recently completed one of their Shark Series boats, the DM Ascentia. The 39m aluminium fast crew/supply boat was launched in 2016 and reaches speeds of over 32knots. It gets its grunt from three Baudouin 12 M26.3 engines, each one providing 1500hp under the Heavy Duty rating needed for this vessel.
As well as one of the slickest paint jobs going around in the industry, the entire engine room is ‘blue’, as the on board power is also supplied by Baudouin by two 6W105S 150kVA gen sets.
While the 6W105S has been part of Baudouin’s range for a while, the 12 M26.3 engine is the latest from Baudouin. Designed solely for marine use with a host of features such as a MOTA designed cooling system and easy maintenance access, the engine is attracting owners and builders alike.
